Northwest Gateway Project Makes Top 10 List

Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era; April 7, 2011

The Lancaster Northwest Gateway Project has been honored as one of the nation's 10 best brownfield-revitalization efforts by the nonprofit Phoenix Awards Institute.

The venture, done through EDC Finance [Corporation] with the help of environmental consultants ARM Group, razed and remediated a vacant Armstrong World Industries factory into a future site for expansions by Lancaster General Health and Franklin & Marshall College.

The 2010 Phoenix Award winners -- one from each U.S. Environmental Protection Agency region -- were based on the magnitude of the problem and project, innovation, cooperation of multiple parties, environmental impact, and economic and social impact.
